Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies-Double recipe for 4 dozen cookies.

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups rolled oats (old fashion or quick)
1 cup chocolate chips

CHILL Dough 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 350º
Line baking sheet with parchment paper

In large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar and brown sugar until mixtures is light in color 
Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla

In medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt
Either by hand or with mixer gradually beat flour mixture into the sugar mixture until blended together
Stir in oats and chocolate chips by hand
Chill Dough 30 minutes

Drop 1-inch balls of dough on cookie sheet, placing about 1 1/2 inches apart
Bake at 350º 10-13 minutes, until golden brown at the edge and light golden at the center

Cool on baking sheet for 1-2 minutes before transfering to a wire rack to cool completely
