Pecan Bars

Pecan Bars

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 cups flour

2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar packed
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350°
Cream butter and confectioners' sugar.  Blend in 1 1/2 cups flour.
Press evenly in bottom of ungreased baking pan 13 x 9 x 2 inches.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes.

Mix remaining ingredients:
Spread over hot baked layer and bake 20 minutes longer
Cool:  Cut into bars.
